The Energy Information Administration reported a decline in US crude oil inventories by 2.5 million barrels last week, bringing the total to 457.1 million barrels, slightly below analysts' expectations of a 2.8 million barrel drop.
Gasoline inventories decreased by 2.3 million barrels to 231.2 million barrels, while distillate inventories fell by 1.7 million barrels to 121.6 million barrels.
